Unlike our island trips which are available for a full day only, you may choose a morning, midday, or afternoon dive time for Panglao local dives, and can choose to make between one and four dives per day, (three day dies and four if you include a night dive.)

1. Arco Point

Distance:
4.5 km from Alona beach

 

Depth:
4-30 meters (Nothing interesting below 30 meters)

There is usually a mild current, great to enjoy a little drift diving!


Description:

This site, suitable for all divers, is also known as “Hole in the wall” due to a small tunnel that begins at a depth of 5 meters and ends in the wall at a depth of 16 meters (the depth varies a couple of meters depending on the tide). The wall ends at 20 meters on a sandy slope beautifully decorated with isolated patches of black sun coral.
Throughout the dive we will find a vast number of soft corals, and on sunny days, the colors and light effects will make this one of your favorite dives. Don͛t forget to look around; a whaleshark might be diving with you.


Aquatic Life:

Ghost pipefish, wrasse, triggerfish, butterflyfish, moray eel, banded sea snake, frogfish, blue ring octopus, orangutan and porcelain crab, etc.

2. BBC

Distance:
3.5 km from Alona beach

 

Depth:
4-30 meters. The most interesting part is located between 7 and 15 meters

Description:
Named after the Bohol Beach Club resort, which is located right in front of this dive site suitable for all divers. There is a sandy slope with pinnacles of corals, and going down here we will find two Jeepneys, the famous color ful buses of the Philippines. The first Jeepney lies at a depth of 8 meters and is completely covered with soft corals. We will find the second one lying upside down at a depth of 14 meters.

 

Marine Life:
Sun coral, fire dart goby, Pegasusfish, banded sea snake, various types of frogfish, saddleback anemonefish, nudibranch, etc.

3. Hoyohoy

Distance:
1 km from Alona beach

 

Depth:
5 – 25 meters

 

Description:
Hoyohoy means breeze in Visaya, the local language. This dive site is in front of Eskaya resort, the dive starts with a wall going to 24 meters, down there is a sandy slope, there are colorful crinoids everywhere, Christmas -tree worm, some very large anemones and several different types of clownfish. The wall is covered by soft corals while the sandy bottom has patches of stony corals.

 

Marine life:
The small reef fish life here is prolific, including the anglerfish, butterflyfish, triggerfish, scorpionfish, lionfish, many different wrasse, pufferfish, etc.

4. TAWALA SANCTUARY

Distance:
200 meters from Alona beach

 

Depth:
5 – 25 meters

 

Description:
This dive site was an amazing coral garden, plenty of acroporas and table corals, unfortunately many corals were damage with the typhoon Pablo in 2012, so along the gradual slope we will find many broken corals, however the dive site is recovering and is a perfect spot to find camouflage master, such a scorpionfish, frogfish, stonefish, etc.

Scorpionfish, stonefish, frog fish, nudibranch, white eye moray, banded pipefish, ornate ghost pipefish, etc.

5. HOUSE REEF

Distance:
100 meters from our dive shop

 

Depth:
5 – 25 meters

 

Description:
Wall dive. This dive site is perfect for courses, DSDs, check dives and night dive, the dive start in 5 meters in a sandy area with coral for mations, the wall starts in 8 meters where we can find a garden of corals, and drops to 20 meters followed by a sandy slope. The wall is rich in nudibranch, morays, lionfish and anemones with all kind of clownfish.

Nudibranchs, moray eels, Moorish idol, batfish, mantis shrimp, frogfish, lionfish, scorpionfish…

6. GARDEN EEL

Distance:
Right in front of our dive shop!

 

Depth:
4- 30 meters

 

Description:
We begin the dive at a depth of 3-5 meters on the reef top, and then we leave the gorgeous coral garden descending through the wall to a depth of up to 25 meters depending on the diver͛s level. This is the beginning of a sandy slope where at the bottom a large group of shy garden eels will hide as we app roach them.

 

This is the favorite place for night dives in Alona Beach.

 

Marine life:
Along the wall, in his cracks and small caves reside huge amount s of macro life: warty frogfish, ghost pipefish, shrimp, spider crab, wide variety of nudibranch, etc.

There is also giant frogfish, trumpetfish, comet fish, lionfish, a small school of round batfish, and even three types of clownfish!

7. BOHOL DIVERS WRECK

Distance:
On the right, facing our dive shop!

 

Depth:
4- 30 meters

 

Description:
Steel boat property of Bohol Divers sunken on 2011. We us ually begin the dive on the top part of the reef to dive down directly to the wreck. We leave the wall behind us until reaching a depth of 18 meters, and then we follow the sandy slop until the wreck that lies between 31 -37 meters. After visiting the wreck we ͛ll go back to the wall where we can enjoy the diversity of macro life.

 

Incorrectly it is called “Habagat Wreck” by some dive shops, which is a different wreck located further from Alona Beach.

Pipefish, mushroom pipefish, ghost pipefish, flamboyant cuttlefish, octopus, rounded batfish, etc.

8. KALIPAYAN

Distance:
100 meters from our dive shop

 

Depth:
4-32 meters

 

Description:
We start the dive in the shallow sandy area and going towards to the reef starting in 7 meters, as we descend we will find a sandy slope starting in 12 meters, where we can find dragon sea moth, depending of our level if we keep on descending we can find seahorses, ghost pipe fish and many nudibranchs until we reach a maximum depth of 32 meters where we can find the rest of an old Banca, traditional Filipino boat , which is loaded with scuba tanks, after that and following our dive computer we ascend until we reach back the wall which is decorated with soft and hard coral on the top.

 

Marine life:
Dragon seamoth, seahorses, nudibranch, lionfish, ghost pipefish and many soft corals decorating the wall.

9. PPB

500 meters from Bohol Divers Club

 

Depth:
4- 30 meters

 

Current:
Sometimes there is a mild current here

 

Description:
PPB (Peak Performance Buoyancy) is named after the Adventure Dive of the PADI AOW Course, as it was part of a circuit to practice the required skills. Unfortunately, it was destroyed by the typhoons and now we can only see some iron bars on the sandy bottom. The dive begins on the shallow area descending through the slope until we reach the deepest part where we can find the amazing species living there, such as blue ring octopus, dragon sea moth fish, flamboyant cuttlefish, sea horse, etc. Then, following our computer, we will ascend until we reach the beautiful wall.

Frogfish, dragon sea seamoth, flamboyant cuttlefish, lionfish, seahorse, banded pipefish, ghost pipefish, robust ghost pipefish, moray eel, etc.

10. GREEN GARDEN

Distance:
400 meters from our dive shop

 

Depth:
3 -25 meters

 

Description:
Gradual sandy slope. We start the dive in 3 meters sandy area, descending through sandy slope full of seagrass, perfect place for seahorses, dragon sea moth or pipe fish, after the sea grass area starts a small wall with overhangs and platforms with soft and hard corals.

11. DANAO WALL

Distance:
1 km from Bohol Divers Club

 

Depth:
2- 25 meters

 

Description:
This site is usually divided in two dives: Danao and Danao Wall. We begin the dive on the top part of the reef. The sandy bottom has pinnacles of coral with plenty of macro life. The wall, decorated with soft and hard corals, drops until 25 meters where the sandy slope begins. Both on the wall or on the shallow parts, the frogfish will surprise us with their different colors, camouflage and sizes. Some shy turtle o even the huge whale shark can make this dive your favorite!

Giant frogfish, warty frogfish, comet fish, sea snake, banded pipefish, ghost pipefish, sweetlips, junior sweetlips, lionfish, scorpionfish, triggerfish, nudibranch, etc.

12. GAK ANG

Distance:
1.5 Km from Alona Beach

 

Depth:
3-25 meters

 

Description:
This dive site is located in front of the small island of Gak Ang.
We start the dive in a sandy shallow area of 3 meters, as we move forward we find many hard corals and reef fish, after this starts a steep slope full o f soft corals, the slope is rich in angelfish, butterflyfish, damsels, frog fish and nudibranchs.

Trumpetfish, angelfish, frogfish, nudibranchs, lizardfish, lionfish also possible here to find sometimes pygmy seahorse

13. PUNTOD

Distance:
11.5 km from Alona Beach

 

Depth:
3- 35 meters

Description:
Located off the coast of Doljo, in Puntod Island. There are caves, overhangs, and soft and hard corals that will make you love this dive site. The wall begins at a depth of 3 meters and goes down to a depth of 45 meters. The safety stop, on the shallow sandy pads with beautiful corals and plenty of fish, will delight you.

Frogfish, nudibranch, lionfish, barracuda, pufferfish, scorpionfish, etc.

14. DOLJO POINT

15 km from Alona Beach

 

Depth:
5- 35 meters

Sometimes there is a strong current here

 

Description:
We start the dive in the sandy area, 5 meters shallow and start descending in a steep slope. Coral is the main characteristic of Doljo. There are large elephant ear sponge and tube coral used by giant frogfish as a hiding place. The impressive gorgonians, table corals and the plenty of reef fish should not keep our attention away from the blue, where we can find barracudas and Spanish mackerel.

Gorgonian sea fan, large elephant ear sponge, barrel sponges cover with alabaster sea cucumbers, surgeonfish, batfish, triggerfish, fusilier fish, angelfish, butterflyfish, pufferfish, moray eel, etc.

15. DOLJO SANCTUARY

15 km from Alona Beach

 

Depth:
5- 35 meters

Description:
We start the dive in the sandy area, 5 meters shallow and start descending in a steep slope. Coral is the main characteristic of Doljo. There are large elephant ear sponge and tube coral used by giant frogfish as a hiding place. 16. MOMO

Distance:
20 km from Alona beach

 

Depth:
5 -30 meters

 

Description:
The dive starts as a shallow coral shelf from 4m to 7m, then drops as a vertical wall to 30m. The shallow shelf is rich is a rich coral garden, large Acropora table corals, pillar and leathery corals. This dive site has everything one would expect of such a site, good visibility, colorful soft corals large sponges and crinoids. In the wall also we can find some overhangs and caves.

All kind of corals, fusiliers, razorfish, peacock mantis, groupers, flat warms, sea cucumbers, moray eels, etc.

17. NAPALING

Distance:
21 km from Alona beach

 

Depth: 3 -40m

 

Description:
There we find the reef, the wall drops to 40 meters and is followed by a sandy slope. The wall is rich in corals and sponges, anthias, fusiliers, clownfish, frogfish hidden in the tube corals, anthias, nudibranch…

18. NEPTUNE GARDEN

Distance:
25 Km from Alona beach.

 

Depth:
1 – 40 meters

 

Description:
This dive site is usually used by free divers because we have a deep wall starting very close to the cliff, very famous dive site due to a sardine run, unfortunately they are seasonal. Only a few meters from the surface the sardines create amazing formations surrounded by some jackfish waiting their turn to try to catch them, the wall drops to 40 meters, impressive hard corals on top and tube corals, anemones on the wall. Visibility here can reach sometimes 40 meters. Marine Life: Sardines run (seasonal), frogfish, razorfish, trevally, barracuda, batfish, etc.
