Bohol Divers is located right in one of the most famous tourist spots in Bohol Philippines: Alona Beach, a very popular scuba-diving and snorkeling spot. Do you know why Alona Beach is so named?
It was in the 1970’s when Alona Alegre, an actress at that time, shot a film at this beach, which still didn’t have a name. Filipinos flocked to the beach to get a glimpse of the movie shooting. The story goes that of all the actors there it was Alona who interacted, and talked the most to the local people. She ho was so loved that by the time the filming ended, people still talked about her. As time goes by, the beach where Alona shot her movie has become the Alona Beach of Panglao, Bohol.
